Silence
Liturgist: Let us worship our God, the Life and light of our lives.
People:
Let us celebrate the grace, blessings and fellowship of our community.
Liturgist: What shall we offer to God and our fellowship?
People: Should we offer our music, prayers, and material offerings?
Liturgist: How can these be an acceptable service to God?
People: Only when we do it for God’s glory and in the service of the people. Only
when - we offer this to those who were made poor because of injustice and
discrimination. They are those who are now being marginalized and are
considered “outsiders”.

Liturgist:
Let us offer our gathering and pray that this will challenge us to do justice, have mercy, walk humbly in God’s sight.
People: Amen! Amen!

Hymn: “Spirit of God, descend upon my heart” (TUMH # 500)

Opening Prayer
We are reminded of the early story of the church,
In plenty and in want they shared their bread and no one was empty.
We are reminded of the perseverance of the apostles.
Who lived out the gospel of truth and been faithful ‘till death.
They were persecuted, tortured and jailed.
Yet their spirits were never crushed, they never gave up their faith.
At the heart of this worship is a living memory of the martyrs of the church.
Let what we are doing today connect us to the faithfulness they bestowed
Come Holy Spirit empower us like the faithful apostles who were empowered during
the day of Pentecost.
Let the fire of devotion to the ministry of Jesus Chrisyt inspire us to serve you.
Let the fellowshipmof believers today live out the zeal and dedication of the earth.

Announcements and Concerns

Prayer of Confession
You have given us lips but our lips are sealed on the issues of injustice and oppression
when our personal interests are affected.
You have given us eyes but we chose not to see the realities around us.
We are blinded with consumerism and material wants to the effect that we were not
able to see those who need our help and support.
You have given us ears, but we are irrritated to listen to the cries of the poor.
When we hear them raise their voice for just cause, we brand them as troublemakers.
You have given us hearts but we never put our hearts to where your heart is.
You have given us hands but we fail to lend our hands to those who need it.
You have given us feet but we chose not to tread the narrow road to your
righteousness, justice and peace.
We are preoccupied with our personal concerns and ambitions.
And we have not placed your agenda to our daily routine.
God of mercy and grace, forgive us. Help us forgive ourselves. Renew our hearts and
minds and make us whole again. May peace be with us again. Amen.

Message

Lighting of Candles :
(Remebering the visit of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost)
Reading : Acts 2:1-13
(After the reading, the pastor will lead in the lighting of candle)

Prayer:

Child:
I am the small voice of our time. My prayer is that the warmth and belongingness of
one another be spontaneously shared to one another.
Youth: May we follow the path which Christ has taught us. May we live out the meaning of
giving ourselves for the sake of others.
Woman: May the passion of this light radiates throug our daily lives. May compassion and
kindness we share be the living testimony of our faith. May wholeness and healing
visit us today.
Man: May the light of truth set us free. May we unfetter the selfishness inside us and
challenge ourselves more to offer our talents and gifts to one another specially those
who do not reciprocate the service we do to them in the name of Love and Service.

Offertory
Doxology

Offertory Prayer
May these gifts bring light to those who walk in darkness; hope to those who live in despair, and justice to those who are not oppressed. Grant to each giver a sense of participation in the most important opportunity of all times: to share your love with the world..
To this end, we dedicate our offerings and ourselves. (From Flames of the Spirt)
